Veeam Backup Replication Update 4
About a month ago at the end of January a new update of the Veeam Backup & Replication software version 4 was released. The application is used to archive virtual machines for the VMWare and Hyper-V environments. Thanks to it you can deploy both simple and complicated DRP scenarios including a functionality of virtual machine replication to a backup data center. Update 4 of the system introduces new functionality in the form of Azure or AWS public cloud use to store data archives. The strategy perfectly follows the 3-2-1 rule which says that a company should have 3 sets of backup collected on 2 different media with one of the copies located outside of the company. Using the public cloud for backup storage gives us compliance with the above rule. Moreover, Veeam Backup & Replication software Update 4 enables virtual machine replication directly to the Microsoft Azure cloud as an IaaS service or to AWS as AWS EC2 VM where the backup data center can be created.
Our company deploys server solutions connected with virtualization. We use the Veeam Backup & Replication software among others.
